Scallion Salad

Scallion Salad is a popular grilled side dish found in many Asian bbq restaurants. It is offered as a complimentary dish, but it is such an easy dish to make at home as well! It pairs well with meats such as pork belly and other meats that are unseasoned. This dish is also simple to make it requires a minimal amount of ingredients. It also goes well with 


  • 3 to 4 medium scallions

Option 1

  • 2 teaspoons gochutgaru (Korean chili flakes)
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Option 2

  • 2 teaspoons gochutgaru
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

1st Step: Cut the scallions crosswise into about 4-inch lengths. Thinly slice each piece lengthwise.


2nd Step: Soak the scallions in cold water for about 10 minutes. Drain well.


3rd Step: Add the gochutgaru, sesame oil, and sesame seeds and toss well.
